Complete List of Services

Emergency PLC Support Services
We provide clients with expert independent contracting emergency remote & on-site PLC support. During a normal remote emergency support call, we work directly with a “man on the ground” to localize, diagnose, and resolve the issue. With good communication infrastructure, and expert direction, we strive to provide remote support that is more efficient, inexpensive, and effective than hiring an on-site field service support engineer to resolve automation issues.
Controls System Troubleshooting
In addition to PLC support, we also provide support for existing controls systems. Our controls engineer independent contractors provide the same level and type of support for existing controls systems as we do for PLC support. This includes electrical troubleshooting starting at the input power in the controls cabinet. During controls system troubleshooting we will connect into the client’s PLC controller to assess and resolve the support case. At times, minor client approved PLC programming changes may be necessary. These changes are part of the PLC and controls system troubleshooting services and not billed separately.
On-Site Emergency Support
PLC Medics provides a generous on-site emergency support service option to our clients that have facilities located in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Ohio. With a single low rate, we bundle enough service days per service call to resolve most support issues. Please take time to review the details below:
- On-site support services are the same services we provide remotely, except they are performed at the client’s facility by a controls engineer independent contractor.
- There are no travel, meal, mileage, or lodging expenses charged to the customer. Travel time is free and not counted against the support service call time or included in the on-site support window.
- On-site support window is Monday through Friday, 8am-8pm.
- Each on-site support service call is for up to 3 days with each day being capped at 8 hours of on-site time, not including 30 minutes given to the CE(s) for a ‘brown bag’ meal. If the service call starts later in the day, the cutoff time will be 8pm EST. Any unused time expires and does not roll over.
VFD, Vision, & Sensor Support & Configuration
Accurate vision systems and sensors, and proper speed control is important for long term system health and manufacturing quality. PLC Medics can remotely assist you in supporting or configuring your vision systems, sensors, and VFD(s) for optimum performance.
Robot Support
Robots are increasingly becoming a standard in modern automation systems. We provide basic robot support for Fanuc robot controllers. One of our goals during troubleshooting is to localize the system fault. If the system fault is discovered to originate from the robot side, we will provide basic robot support for R-30iB and newer series controllers. If we cannot provide further support or parts may be required, we will notify the client as soon as possible, and provide guidance on who to contact for quick robot fault resolution.
PLC/HMI Offline Programming Support
Offline PLC & HMI programming is a courtesy concierge service for our clients. We offer any remaining service call time to use for approved offline PLC/HMI programming or on-site download & debugging.
Electrical Drawings Updates
Electrical drawing updates is a courtesy concierge service offered to our clients who need to update their existing drawing sets due to system upgrades. This service includes BOM releases. We offer any remaining service call time to use for approved electrical drawings updates using AutoCAD Electrical.
Please note, clients are responsible for ordering parts.
